Our accessibility commitment

Copla Ltd aims to make PlanningMapsUK.com accessible to disabled people and to provide reasonable adjustments where a feature or format creates a barrier. We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as our design and testing target.

We have not yet completed a full independent WCAG audit, so we do not claim that every page or third-party item is fully conformant. This statement records the current approach and known limitations honestly.

How the site is designed to help

  • Pages use a consistent header, navigation and footer.
  • A skip link allows keyboard users to move to the main content.
  • Headings, lists, tables, forms and landmarks use semantic markup.
  • Interactive controls have visible keyboard focus and text labels.
  • Business and portfolio images are given meaningful alternative text.
  • Layouts reflow for smaller screens and browser zoom.
  • Reduced-motion preferences are respected.
  • Colour is not intended to be the only way information is conveyed.

Known limitations

  • Some logos, photographs, PDFs, maps, reviews and social-media content originate from third parties and may not meet the same accessibility standard as the main site.
  • A social-media feed is optional and can be bypassed using the direct profile link. The provider controls the accessibility of the feed.
  • Very detailed authority boundaries are summarised visually. The page also names the authority and provides a text description and official source link.
  • Some source documents published by planning authorities may be older scanned PDFs. We cannot alter those documents, but can help identify an alternative source where one is available.

Request an alternative or report a problem

If you cannot access information or need it in another format, tell us which page or content you need and the format that would help. We will consider the request and respond as soon as reasonably possible.

Email [email protected], call 01856 898 022, or use our contact page. Calls are answered during normal business hours.

Please include the web address, what went wrong and the device or assistive technology used if you are comfortable doing so. This helps us investigate without being a condition of receiving help.

Assessment and review

This website is assessed through automated checks, code review and representative keyboard and responsive testing. A full independent audit is still to be commissioned. We will update this statement after material changes or when an audit identifies a new limitation.

If you are dissatisfied with our response, you may seek advice about disability discrimination and service-provider duties from the Equality Advisory and Support Service.
